Graduation Speech: Aim at the Sun :: Graduation Speech, Commencement Address
Graduation - at last! I thought we'd never get here. Only 13 years ago, we started our first day of kindergarten. It may be easy for some of you to recall those memories. Remembering those magical days of elementary, hop-scotch, tether ball, swinging on the monkey bars, playing the map game, boys chasing girls on recess, and for us girls, day-of-the-week underwear were a big hit. If only the days were as simple as those. The six years flew by quickly and we were off to middle school and soon to junior high or Cedarcrest. Now we were into dances, telephone numbers, big hair, lockers, and the girls were chasing the boys. Who can forget the rivalry between the "Downtowners" and the "Cedarpreps"? There was one focus and one focus only, victory. Four more years gone by and we are "squashmores." It seems like only yesterday when we stepped foot onto County High School. We looked with amazement at all of the different buildings and the numerous classrooms. It was the seniors that frightened us the most. Those helpful seniors: the tapings, the directions, even raw eggs. We soon ventured into our junior year, we were now the Class of 2012. We had made new friends and discovered that Mr. Thomas was the most versatile of all schedule organizers. By now most everyone had their license, and up and down, and up and down, and up and down State Street we went. What fools we were, or maybe some of us still are. Finally, we became the big bad seniors we once feared. There have been numerous memories that one will never forget and will always cherish. These memories include: dodging seagulls, sneaking past security, formal dances, eating lunch on the forum, tea, the picnic and now graduation. As we choose our own paths, some will continue their education, while others will go straight into the work force.

How Do Social Networks Affect Secondary Student Education? Essay
Looking at most students, we have changed since the beginning of 2000. We canââ¬â¢t live without social networks; it has become a part of our daily routine. Online social media sites have gained worldwide growth and popularity, which has led to attracting attention from a variety of global researches. Secondary students use social networks as a mode to communicate and find answers and information about everything. According to current various research studies, it has been revealed that in modern society social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp have become issues to secondary students: they affect studentsââ¬â¢ health and performance at school, reduce their free time, keep them away from the family, have a bad influence, grammatically change them, and leave open to cyber-bullying. As the young generation tends to spend many hours on social networks, they spend less time on education. However, education is an essential part of an individualââ¬â¢s life. For every teenager, education should be the most important thing. Today, teenagers show much interest in using social networks, but, unfortunately, social networks affect education in a negative way (Kuppuswamy, Narayan 67). Social networks grab the total attention and concentration of the students and divert them towards non-educational, unethical and inappropriate actions such as useless chatting, wasting time by random searching and not doing their homework. Students are also not able to get rid of this addiction during lecture hours; therefore, their concentration decreases and this negatively affects their ability to learn new topics. According to Daily Mail, ââ¬Å"Experts have confirmed what parents and teachers already feared ââ¬â youngsters who use Facebook do worse on examsâ⬠(Clarke 1). The usage of social networks among younger children is high and growing rapidly. ââ¬Å"The research showed that 68% of students who used Facebook had a significantly lower GPAâ⬠(Clarke 1). Moreover, Facebook rituals such as ââ¬Ëliking picturesââ¬â¢, ââ¬Ëpokingââ¬â¢ other users and adding applications, can swallow up hours of study time (Clarke 1). According to other surveys, theà use of smartphones to access social network sites during class does not only affect studentsââ¬â¢ concentration, it also distracts studentsââ¬â¢ from listening and memorizing important information. Inevitably, their exam results fall dramatically. In The Impact of Mobile Phone Usage on Student Learning, Scott Titsworth and Jeffrey Kuznekoff have shared their survey results. In their survey, there are three student groups. The first group is the control group, who are banned from using their mobile phones during lecture hour. The second group is more free in using of their mobile phones than the first group. The third group, called the high-distraction group, is totally free to use their mobile phones during lessons. According to survey results, the control group is the most successful in exams, their free recall and note details are much better than other groups. The high-distraction group is the worst in all of the areas. Their short-time memories were affected negatively because of their use of the mobile phones (233). In Negative Effects of Social Networking Sites for Students, Steve Armstrong writes: ââ¬Å"Students today have begun to rely on the accessibility of information that is available on the social media platforms specifically as well as the web in general in order to get answers. This means that there is a reduced focus on learning as well as on retaining informationâ⬠(Armstrong 1). As a result usage of mobile phone during lecture hours has a significant effect on studentsââ¬â¢ exam results and memory. Similarly, social networking can impact health. One of the biggest problems is that the phone and computer screens have been proven to cause eyestrain, leading to poor eyesight. The little movement, when they are staring at a screen has been proven to lead to muscle weakness, less muscle development and, in some cases, bone loss. A number of studies have found characteristics of social networks to be strongly associated with health outcomes for a range of physical and psychiatric conditions, and even with mortality rates (Salzinger, Antrobus, and Hammer 2). To prove this statement, nowadays lots of teenagers are wearing glasses or contact lenses. That tells me that using social networks when itââ¬â¢s not needed, may lead you for a health problems. An article titled Are Social Networking Sites Turning Teens into Substance Abusers? tells the reader statistics about how much more likely teenagers are to drink or smoke after being on social networkingà sites. ââ¬Å"â⬠¦teens that use Facebook on a daily basis are three times more likely to drink alcohol and twice as likely to use marijuana than those who do not use Facebookâ⬠(Jaslow part 2). Moreover, an article called The impact of Social Media on Children states that the likelihood of children who use social network often, can increase their chances of them getting in trouble or becoming depressed (Gwenn, Clarke-Pearson 1). Social networks like Facebook have a large impact on secondary students, often causing depression. The Telegraph reported a survey that found out that ââ¬Å"53 percent of participants said social media sites had changed their behavior, while 51 percent of these said the change had been negativeâ⬠. Furthermore, two thirds of participants have difficulty relaxing and sleeping after using websites, while ââ¬Å"55 percent felt worried and uncomfortable when they are unable to log onto their social media accountsâ⬠(Dunneli 1). As well as that, 28 percent of young Facebook users, uses it â⬠all the timeâ⬠. Along with those problems, social media bullying has been consistent problem for teenagers. Since the increase in the usage of social network, it has become easier for people to target one another. Prospective problems such as cyber bullying, sexting and inappropriate behavior can occur without the appropriate monitoring by parents and the lack of regulation associated with todayââ¬â¢s youth and young individuals. Sexting occurs among the teen population; a recent survey revealed, ââ¬Å"20% of teens have sent or posted nude or seminude photographs or videos of themselvesâ⬠(National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy 1). Severe, ââ¬Å"frequent cyber bullying can leave both victims and bullies at greater risk for anxiety, depression, and other stress related disordersâ⬠(Cyberbullying 1). ââ¬Å"The most common form of cyber bullying is through messages on platforms such as Facebook and Twitter and instant messagingâ⬠(Cyber-bullying 1). In some rare but highly publicized cases, some kids have turned to suicide. (Cyberbullying 1). For example, a few years ago a girl named Amanda Todd was cyber-bullied, which caused her to commit suicide. Before her death, she posted a video where she told how she was blackmailed into exposing herself online. After pictures were posted on Facebook, an online bullying campaign began and the 15 years old girl eventually committed a suicide (Six Unforgettable CyberBullying Cases 1). Another example is the story about Megan Meier. She struggled withà attention deficit disorder and depression in addiction to issues with her weight. About a week before her death, a boy named Josh Evans asked Megan to be friends on the social network, MySpace. They began to communicate regularly, although they never met each other. ââ¬Å"Megan had a lifelong struggle with weight and self-esteem,â⬠Tina said on the Foundation website. ââ¬Å"And now she finally had a boy who she thought really thought she was pretty.â⬠However, after Josh didnââ¬â¢t want to be friends with her and become more cruel by telling her ââ¬Å"The world would be a better place without you.â⬠The cyber bullying increased when her classmates and friends on MySpace began writing bad messages. Megan couldnââ¬â¢t read it all and went to her room, leaving her computer opened and hanged herself in her bedroom closet. She died three weeks before her 14th birthday (Six Unforgettable CyberBullying Cases 1). Correspondingly to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people with approximately 4,400 deaths every year. Many individuals feel that they cannot handle the impact of being bullied on social media and the stress related to it. Social media bullying makes people feel helpless and increases the risk of individuals who are being bullied to feel as if they will be the talk of the school or town. Bullying for the most part has been a continual problem in society. Parents need to educate their children on safer ways to use social media platforms in order to potentially avoid the blitz that is now referred to as social media bullying. Correspondingly, social media influences teenagers greatly. For example, letââ¬â¢s take teenage girls; they believe that to exemplify beauty, you have to be thin like a model, as well as that advertisements encourage them what to wear or how to look. Another example is that media sites display multiple advertisements such as banner ads and behavior ads that influence teenagers by showing bad example such as smoking, drinking alcohol and using drugs. There are lots of social networks that operate by gathering information on the person and make them buy a product or use it. Such powerful influences start as soon as children begin to go online (Wilcox, Kunkel, Cantor, Dowrick, Linn, Palmer 2-3). In the same way, social media affect teenagerââ¬â¢s grammar. Grammar structures, syntax, proper spelling are replaced by easier type of words, which are called ââ¬Ëslangââ¬â¢. Teens have become quite adept at both thumbing and writing improper text where after they start to use it everywhere, even in their school assignments. Knowledge of grammar and spelling is lost and this degradation negatively affects studentsââ¬â¢ study. The researchers of New Media & Society passed out a survey that asked students to detail their texting habits, such as how many texts they send and receive, as well as their opinion on the importance of texting. The researchers also asked participants to note the number of adaptations in their last three sent and received text messages. Of the 542 surveys distributed, students completed and returned 228, or 42.1 percent (Matt Swayne, and Andrea Elyse Messer). Usually, when work is done, most teenagers spend their time online, chatting with friends or just scrolling down the news feed rather than do something helpful or getting enough sleep. As the research showed ââ¬Å"the average teenager gets just seven-and-a-half hoursââ¬â¢ sleep a night, despite needing eight to ten hours.â⬠(Carey 1). According to the Sleep Foundation, as many as 65 percent of children are estimated to suffer from significant sleep deprivation. Hundreds of thousands of children here also have sleep disorders, including insomnia. By the time these children are in their teens, using smartphones and tablets into the early hours has become so established that it has its own name, ââ¬Ëvampingââ¬â¢, named after the adolescent vampires who never sleep in the ââ¬Å"Twilightâ⬠books and films (Carey 1). Social researcher Danah Boyd, author of the book Itââ¬â¢s Complicated: The Social Lives Of Networked Teens, says that young people would rather be chronically tired and resort to subterfuge than give up what they regard as ââ¬Ëme timeââ¬â¢ late at night (Carey 1).ââ¬Å"The Vampire CHILDRENâ⬠article showed and an example of a girl who spends her free time using social networks. ââ¬Å"I snap really easily. My patience disappears and I just want everything on the spot,â⬠she says, ââ¬Å"I stay up until the messages stop. Then I see the time and panic that Iââ¬â¢ve got to get up soon.â⬠Being addicted to the social network can be one of the problems too. According to the Washington Post, 14-year old Ben Knight was asked about how he spends his time ââ¬Å"From the time I get home until I go toà bed, Iââ¬â¢m usually on my computerâ⬠(Ahuja 1). As stated by the Bureau of Labor Statisticsââ¬â¢ 2011 American Time Use Survey, high school students spent on average less than an hour per weekday on sports, exercise and recreation (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics 1). Although many people around the world use social networking, it should only be used as a tool. Social networking aids long distance communication greatly, but there must be a stopping point. It cannot become our main form of communication and interaction. If we continue overusing these sites, then it will keep affecting our communication, self-expression, bullying, health, friendship and performance at school, grammar and influence in negative ways. There is nothing that can substitute for personal interaction. Social networking is the problem and we must eliminate its overuse by finding hobby or something that you are interested in. Schedule more quality time away from technology driven activities. Positives and Negatives of Legalizing Marijuana - 1886 Words
I have always been against the use of all illegal drugs including marijuana, but while researching this topic, I have learned a lot about some of the positives of legalizing marijuana use. Considering it is classified as an illegal controlled substance, I have always been under the assumption that marijuana was bad for people, no matter what my friends may have said about how good it was. I was peer pressured into trying it when I was fourteen. I knew right away that it was not for me. It made me pass out and sick to my stomach when I woke up. That reiterated my assumption that it was bad for people. I did not understand how people could like it. I figured other people must not have had the same reaction as I did after smoking it.â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦It can also make judging distances and reacting to signals and sounds while driving more difficult. A roadside study of reckless drivers who were not impaired by alcohol showed that 45% tested positive for marijuana (Fi ction). Marijuana use has also been linked to car crashes. Marijuana has been linked to adolescents engaging in risky behaviors. Research has shown a link between frequent marijuana use and increased violent behavior. Research found that among youth, the incidence of physically attacking people, destroying property and stealing increased in proportion to the number of days marijuana was smoked in the past year (Fiction). Youths engaging in delinquent behavior rose right along with their marijuana use. The ability of young people to concentrate and retain information has been linked to heavy marijuana use. Regular marijuana use has been shown to be associated with cognitive deficits and poor academic performance (Fiction). Students who smoke marijuana are known to skip classes and some miss classes because of illnesses caused by smoking marijuana. According to Just Think Twice, other dangers of marijuana use include: â⬠¢ The substances in marijuana stay in the fatty parts of the body for long periods of time. â⬠¢ A 50% concentration of THC can be found in the body up to eight days after using marijuana and traces can be found in the body up to 3 months after use. The Making of a Hero Essay Example For Students
The Making of a Hero Essay Heroââ¬â¢s come in many shapes and sizes, but not all of them have flowing capes and tight spandex pants. The real heroââ¬â¢s are the average people just trying to do the right thing. I believe a hero is someone who is determined to do good, no matter the cost. A hero is someone who is selfless in bad situations and willing to put their own life at risk so that another person might live to see another day. Finally a hero is a leader and role model to those around them, staying calm and strong in the face of danger. This happened when I had to help a gunshot victim stay alive. There are many changes that can happen in a personââ¬â¢s life. Some changes are very small and wouldnt change our life very much. However, other events could be very important and could change a persons whole life, such as getting married having a baby, or losing someone special. The important event that changed my life is the day I had to step up and be a hero to someone else. People usually just ask me where the bathroom is or if we are hiring. Sometimes they ask where they can find the milk or bread. However on this day in late 2011 while I was working in the frontend at Russââ¬â¢s Market. A very frazzled and shockingly pale young man stumbled into our store. He slowly made his way to the closest check stand. As his gaze turned upward to the middle aged women working behind the counter he softly said ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢ve just been shotâ⬠and continued to slowly shuffle like a zombie further into the store. Being the Assistant Service Manager I was sitting in my office filling out some paperwork when over the p. a. system crackled ââ¬Å"umcode 44 blue â⬠I could hear the uneasiness in her voice, so I knew it wasnââ¬â¢t something small, but I had no idea what to expect. I sprang out of my chair and hurried to the frontend. On my way to the front of the store my mind was racing what could be the emergency. Did someone get hurt, a shoplifter, or where we being robbed? I was so busy thinking I almost didnt notice the young man stumbling towards me. I stopped dead in my tracks. He was wearing black pants and a white T-shirt which was covered in blood. A blank expressionless face with glazed over eyes, and a pale white face. Blood running down his right arm leaving, a crimson red trail on the white floor tiles behind him. He looked like he jumped straight out of one of George Romeroââ¬â¢s zombie films. Every cell of my body lit up, but something in my head told me to play it calm. ââ¬Å"Are you alright? â⬠I asked him. He gave me no response he simply walked right past me as if he didnt even know I was there. Still processing the whole situation I realized he was in complete shock, he was running on nothing but pure adrenaline. I immediately grabbed the closest chair and got him to sit down, as continued movement would only cause more blood to be pumped out. By this point there was beginning to be a crowd of onlookers gathering around us. I could hear people in the crowd telling one another to call 911. But no one was actually calling it, Just telling one another to call. I pulled out my cell phone and tossed it to my employee and told him to ââ¬Å"call 911. I turned to another employee who was dumbfounded in the crowd. ââ¬Å"Get me the first aid kit, the blood pathogen kit, and the biohazard bags. â⬠I said, they quickly ran off. I turned and pointed to the third one standing in the crowd ââ¬Å"Get as many clean rags as you can carry. â⬠Turning my attention back to the young man his eyes were becoming very heavy, the adrenaline was wearing off and he wanted to pass out. ââ¬Å"Hey man I need you to stay awake ok? Helps on the wayâ⬠. As I finished my sentence my co-workers returned one with the rags and the other empty handed, she couldnââ¬â¢t find the first aid kits. .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8 , .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8 .postImageUrl , .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8 , .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8:hover , .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8:visited , .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8:active { border:0!important; } .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8:active , .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8 .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ue35d83ddd67c1eec55c4920372f966c8:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: The Scarlet Ibis EssayI scanned the young mans body to find his injuries. There was a bullet wound in his upper right forearm and one on the right side of his chest, and one to his hand. He wasnt coughing up blood or having trouble breathing so luckily it didnââ¬â¢t hit his lungs. Judging by the holes it was a small caliber handgun most likely a . 22, fairly common to get. The hand looked the worst, right between the thumb and pointer finger in his palm was hole, you could see right though it tendons and muscles just hanging out covered in blood. The smell of iron began to fill the air. Of all the days to be the only manager working it had to be today. I pulled out my box cutter and cut a long strip from one of the rags and tied it around his upper bicep to help cut off blood flow to his arm and hand. Then I grabbed two more clean rags and using both hands placed them over his hand and chest and applied pressure to stop the bleeding. His face cringed in pain. ââ¬Å"I know it hurts but we need to stop the bleeding. â⬠I told him. ââ¬Å"Whatââ¬â¢s your name? â⬠I asked him still holding the now bloody rags to his wounds. ââ¬Å"Landonâ⬠he replied ââ¬Å"Do you know where you are Landon? â⬠ââ¬Å"Noâ⬠he said still fighting his hardest to stay awake. ââ¬Å"Your at Russââ¬â¢s Market, my names Jacobâ⬠I explained to him. Do you remember what happen? â⬠ââ¬Å"I got a call from a girl to come over. â⬠he said in pain. ââ¬Å"Your girlfriendâ⬠I asked. ââ¬Å"No. Some guy was waiting for me outside when I got there â⬠ââ¬Å"Do you remember what he looked like? â⬠ââ¬Å"NoI just remember running and now Im here,â⬠he said. ââ¬Å"That was smart running in here Landon, youre gonna be ok we already called 911â⬠I reassured him. Inside I kept screaming where are those paramedics! I had no idea if anything I was doing was even helping. I have no medical training what so ever, everything Ive done so far I learned from watching the show ââ¬Å"Houseâ⬠. After what felt like an eternity waiting for help to arrive, I glanced over to see the firemen and EMTââ¬â¢s rushing down the isle. An instant wave of relief washed over me. I moved aside to let them begin their examination. As the paramedics loaded Landon on a stretcher and the crowd began to disperse I quickly went to the restroom to wash the blood from my hands. As the crimson red mixed with the soap and water and swirled down the drain of the bathroom sink, I realized eve though Landon was gone my excitement wasnt over yet, for I knew in only minutes the press be here to shove there microphones and recorders in everyoneââ¬â¢s face. After cleaning up I went back to the spot where Landon was sitting and a few coworkers had started cleaning the area already. I rushed all around the store telling my associates not to talk to the press but refer them to me, which then I would refer them to Pat Raynald the current head of the company as was procedure. They complied and the reporters were extremely pushy for information, but eventually left after about 15 minutes of getting nowhere. Finally, everyone was gone, the store was cleaned and quiet and I finally had a chance to catch my breath. Just then Carl Davis our head of security walked through the doors. Hey heard you guys had a little excitement tonight, well it looks like you got it all under control good jobâ⬠he then turned and exited as quickly as he came. I remember thinking to myself ââ¬Å"I dont get paid enough to play field medic, that was not in the manualâ⬠. But when all was said and done, I got home and relaxed for a while and I have to admit I felt good, about everything. I mean I might have actually saved that kids life tonight. The following days I kept up on the kidââ¬â¢s condition, he would need some physical therapy but he was alive and well. I even got a nice thank you note from his family thanking me for everything I did for him. .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3 , .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3 .postImageUrl , .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3 , .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3:hover , .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3:visited , .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3:active { border:0!important; } .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3:active , .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3 .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u978e3e7442d758e9486a7c31a78077d3:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Study Of The Enviroment On The Cell Membrane EssayIââ¬â¢ll never forget that night itââ¬â¢s always playing in my head like an old movie reel on repeat. But now I try to live my life to be that person I was that night everyday. According to the Websterââ¬â¢s dictionary of the English language the term ââ¬Å"heroâ⬠has four definitions my favorite being the third reading ââ¬Å"a person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideaâ⬠. As I mentioned in the beginning, Heroââ¬â¢s dont have to have fantastical powers or ridiculous costumes, they just need to do whatââ¬â¢s right, to be the hero, shining in the night. But maybe Iââ¬â¢ll still make a mask.
